Desulo is an enchanting village in the heart of the Gennargentu, perched on the mountain massif at about 1,000 metres high. Rich in gastronomic and artisan traditions, this alpine pearl is set among centuries-old woods of chestnut, holm oak, walnut, oak and cherry trees and springs of purest waters.
Its historic centre gives the clear impression of a mountain settlement, with houses with long wooden balconies, narrow streets, courtyards and with breath-taking views from every part of the town.
Gastronomic treasures such as the famous chestnuts, ham, cured meats, mountain pears, nougat and other typical sweets, or even the famous "cicci bread", make it a place that should also be explored for its culinary offerings, while the ancient arts of crafting wood, knives and leather are still going strong.
In addition to finding them every day along the streets of the town, all of these products are presented during "La Montagna Produce" (“The Mountain Produces”, which takes place in early November), an event which has been dedicated to the cultural traditions of Desulo in all their forms for over twenty years.
